Thornton Steward Institute Newsletter

Added on 21 March 2025

As Spring is arriving in the village, we wanted to update you on building progress at The Village Institute.

Over the winter, we have extended the Institute to include a brand new indoor disabled toilet, renovated the kitchen area and refitted a new kitchen. We hope that this work will be completed in April and by early May the Institute will be fully available again for village events.

For those that are new to the village, the Institute is a facility for everyone in the parish.

The Institute is largely self-funding so we appreciate your support to keep it going:-

•    You are welcome to hire it for a small charge for your own private event.
•    Drinks for walkers – the Institute is always open for walkers to make hot drinks for a small donation.
•    Toilet for walkers – there is an outside toilet behind the Institute that walkers are welcome to use for a small donation.
•    Book Sale – there is a selection of second hand books available for a small donation – please feel free to browse them.
•    Table Tennis – there is a table tennis table, net, bats and balls (in the drawer) that you are welcome to use at any time for a small donation.

The red donation box is located on the wooden table where the teas and coffees currently are.

Please feel free to use and enjoy this lovely, historic village facility.
